Our location

The Jeff Hotel is located in the heart of Charlottesville’s historic Downtown Mall. Beloved by locals and tourists alike, this sought-after district for dining, shopping, and entertainment features a brick-paved pedestrian corridor flanked by stately oak trees, restaurants, boutiques, and more. Now a thriving city center and hub for Charlottesville’s massive music scene, the Downtown Mall’s history as a small-town neighborhood is reflected in its eclectic mix of restored and renovated buildings .

The centerpiece of the Mall is The Jefferson Theater, now crowned by The Jeff Hotel. The Jefferson was built in 1912 to celebrate the glory days of American entertainment. What began as a combination vaudeville house and movie palace now serves as one of America’s favorite live music venues. Each year, hundreds of bands from around the world travel to Virginia for a chance to rock the Jefferson stage.

Charlottesville (AKA C’ville) has long been home to rock stars. Our humble city is the former home of two presidents—Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe—and the current home of Dave Matthews, John Grisham, and Rita Dove . Now that you’re here, the lineup’s complete.

Beyond downtown, you’ll find a dizzying array of fun things to do. From the Corner, where University of Virginia students while away their non-study hours, to the picturesque vineyards and rolling hills of Albemarle County, you can get lost in a world of wineries and breweries, scenic hikes and drives, historic landmarks and educational tours. There’s a reason C’ville has been named America’s Happiest City, and when you’re at The Jeff, you have it all at your fingertips.
